What grades of SS sheets and plates do we supply in Mumbai?
Moltenium Power Steels is an ISO 9001:2015 certified, MSME-registered supplier and stockist of stainless steel, duplex, nickel alloy and mild steel sheets, plates and coils in Mumbai. As part of the Nageshwar Steels group — trading ferrous and non-ferrous metals since
the early 1990s — we hold ready stock of grades 201, 201LN, 202, 301, 301L, 301LN, 304, 304L, 304LN, 304H, 309, 310, 316, 316L, 316LN, 316TI, 317, 317L, 321, 347, 904 and 904L, plus duplex, super duplex and nickel alloys, supplied as sheet, plate, shim, foil, coil, flat and circle to fabricators, EPC contractors and process industries across Mumbai.
SS 201LN, 301L and 301LN — where each grade is used
301L and 301LN are specified where higher work-hardening and weld toughness matter most — common in railway coach building, transport tankers, and structural cladding where the material needs to gain strength through cold-forming rather than through alloy content alone. 201LN is a cost-effective, nickel-lean alternative widely used in utensils, kitchen equipment and general fabrication — the grade to specify when budget is the primary constraint and the application doesn’t demand maximum corrosion resistance. Both are austenitic and non-magnetic in their annealed condition, though 301LN can develop slight magnetism after heavy cold working, which is a normal metallurgical characteristic rather than a defect.
Duplex and Super Duplex plates
For higher strength and superior chloride corrosion resistance than standard austenitic grades, we stock Duplex and Super Duplex plate to SA240 UNS S31803, S32205, S32550, S32750 and S32760, plus SMO 254. These grades combine a mixed austenitic-ferritic microstructure that gives roughly double the yield strength of standard 304/316 grades along with significantly better resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking — commonly specified in desalination plants, offshore piping systems and chemical process equipment across Mumbai’s oil
& gas and marine engineering sector.
Nickel alloy plates
Our nickel alloy stock includes Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy and Incoloy plates for high-temperature, high-corrosion applications in fertiliser plants,
power generation and chemical processing, where standard stainless grades would degrade under sustained thermal or chemical stress.
MS and Hot Rolled plates
Alongside stainless and alloy grades, we supply mild steel (MS) and hot rolled (HR) plates for structural fabrication, base plates and general engineering use — typically the more economical choice where corrosion resistance isn’t the governing design requirement.
Sheet vs plate vs coil — what’s the difference?
In industry terms, sheet generally refers to material under 6mm thickness, plate to material 6mm and above, and coil to material supplied in continuous rolled form rather than cut lengths — the same base material can be ordered in any of these three forms depending on your
downstream fabrication process. Circles and flats are simply pre-cut shapes from sheet or plate stock, saving your team a cutting step.
Sizes, thickness, length and finish
Standard widths from 1000mm to 2000mm (1000, 1220, 1250, 1500, 2000mm and non-standard sizes on request), thickness 0.1mm to 200mm, standard lengths 2000mm, 2500mm, 3000mm and 6000mm, in 2B, BA, No.8, CR, HR and matte PVC surface finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions
201LN is a lower-nickel, cost-effective austenitic grade suited to general fabrication and utensils. 301LN has higher work-hardening capacity and weld toughness, making it the preferred choice for structural and transport applications like railway coach panels.
We stock SS sheets and plates from 0.1mm up to 200mm thickness, in widths from 1000mm to 2000mm, with standard and non-standard sizes available on request.
Yes. Every consignment is backed by mill test certificates and passes through our internal quality control process before dispatch, with full traceability to the heat number.
Duplex grades (like S31803/2205) offer roughly double the yield strength of standard austenitic stainless steel with good chloride resistance. Super duplex grades (like S32750/S32760) contain higher chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content for even greater resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, typically specified for more aggressive offshore and chemical environments.
Yes — cut-to-size sheets, plates and circles are available on request. Confirm your exact dimensions when enquiring so we can quote accurately.
2B (standard cold-rolled matte), BA (Bright Annealed, reflective), No.8 (mirror polish), CR (cold rolled), HR (hot rolled) and matte PVC-coated finishes are available.
Yes — Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy and Incoloy plates are held in stock for high-temperature and high-corrosion applications in fertiliser, power and chemical processing industries.
We supply both bulk and smaller cut-to-size orders — contact our team with your requirement and we’ll confirm what’s available from current stock versus what needs a mill order.
Standard sizes in stock are typically dispatched within 1–2 days of order confirmation from our Girgaon, Mumbai facility. Non-standard or mill-order sizes take longer depending on mill lead time.
